Abstract:
Indian burial mounds are to be found in large numbers in the states along the Atlantic seaboard, and the number of skeletons found therein point to the conclusion that while the methods followed by various tribes may have varied, there was a universal Indian custom of reinterment. Indian burial mounds have been found over North Carolina, a number of which have been explored in Duplin, Sampson, Robeson, and Montgomery Counties.
