Abstract:
Edgar Wilson (Bill) Nye, one of the Nation's best-loved humorists who spent the latter years of his life in North Carolina, lies buried in the mountains he loved to roam. Nye, born in Maine, wrote for the Denver Republican and became the editor of the Sentinel in Laramie, Wyoming. He moved to North Carolina in 1886, where a good part of his most famous work was done. His body rests in the cemetery of Calvary Episcopal Church, south of Asheville.
