Abstract:
Lieutenant J. A. McNeill served in the navy during World War II. After completing midshipman's training at Columbia, he was assigned to an LCT (Landing Craft Tank). The LCT was to be hauled across the Pacific to engage the Japanese. Some of his adventures while in charge of the ship included being mistaken for a submarine, being lost at sea, and eventually engaging the enemy at Guadalcanal.
