Abstract:

North Carolina native, Julius Boros, a 32-year-olf golf pro from Southern Pines, won the U.S. Open in June 1952 and the World Championship in Chicago, in August 1952. Boros' victory in Chicago won him the largest golf purse in the history of the sport.
