Abstract:
This article describes a 600-year-old masterpiece in the North Carolina Museum of Art collection. Titled \"Madonna and Child,\"the small ivory sculpture standing one-foot high was carved by an unknown 14th century French artist. Mrs. Edsel B. Ford presented the work to the museum several years ago.
