Abstract:

The Carolinas are the only section of the country where tin has been found in large deposits. The American Consolidated Tin Mines Corporation purchased a large land area near Lincolnton in Lincoln County that is considered to be the richest tin deposit in the nation. The company's mining operation is a departure from the traditional method of tin mining.
