Abstract:

Carolina Steel, a division of Florida Steel Corporation, has opened its new $3.3 million plant near Charlotte. The plant uses scrap as its “ore,” and sixty car-loads per month bring it to the mill. The article presents information on changing scrap into steel at the plant.
