The redistricting challenge to the North Carolina General Assembly in 1971 is to establish eleven Congressional districts with as nearly equal representation in Washington as possible. Recent court rulings have indicated that anything less will be unacceptable, and if necessary the courts have threatened to do the job if the legislature cannot.
Clyde W. Gordon of Alamance County at age sixty-eight is rounding out a distinguished career in the textile industry.
