Abstract:
The North Carolina Society of New York, formed in 1898, celebrates its 75th anniversary on December 1st at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The society was founded by George Gordon Battle, George Garland Allen, W. W. Fuller, Benjamin N. Duke, and Junius Parker to promote male companionship amongst relocated North Carolinian men. Membership was eventually opened to wives and the meetings gradually evolved into the dinner dances that they are today.
