Abstract:
The Barnwell brothers, R. W., James A., and John H. joined forces to start a lucrative trucking business. R. W. and James A. made up the Barnwell Brothers Inc., in Burlington and John H. was head of Transportation Inc. in Charlotte. The fleet of trucks consisted of 160 trucks which hauled 93,000,000 pounds of freight over 5,000,000 miles.

Abstract:
In the Sandhill region near Samarcand, the State Home and Industrial School for Girls rehabilitates troubled young women. Those sent there learn self-reliance, which included lessons in traditional female gender roles of cooking, laundry, and farming basics. The campus included an auditorium, hospital, dorms, and various administrative buildings.

Abstract:
Watkins Wright of Asheville began his writing career in high school. His play \"Put It On the Map\" was published by Walter H. Baker Publishing Company, which has since published ten more. He has published sixty-five short stories, a number of movie scenarios, and four novels. He moved to New York City in 1924 to live within reach of publishing houses and editorial offices.
