Abstract:

In Gastonia, an old street car service came to a halt. The car called \"Old Ironsides No. 2\" stoppage marked not only an end of street car service in Gaston County but across the state of North Carolina. Detailed in the article is a short history of streetcars along with the ceremony that followed \"Old Ironsides No. 2\" final stop.
