Roy Parker graduated from Wake Forest College in 1915; enlisted in the service at the outbreak of World War I; and later went to sea with the U.S. Navy. He eventually returned to his home in Hertford County and now publishes four different newspapers. He was recently elected president of the North Carolina Press Association.
