Abstract:

Aldi, Inc., a German grocery chain, is moving into the state's grocery market. Three stores are open and eight are under construction. A $25-million distribution center is being built in Rowan County to supply these stores. Selling house brands and having customers bag their groceries are some of the techniques Aldi will use to compete for business.
