At no cost to them, employees of Mount Holly, North Carolina threadmaker American and Efird have acquired an ownership stake in their employer's parent company. Through the Ruddick Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Ruddick Co. employees own 7,413,983 shares in common stock; about $119 million.
