The bill restricts state agencies from predicting sea level rise, a pertinent issue considering current forecasts report a potential three feet sea level increase. North Carolina's coastal economy, ecosystems, and residents could be adversely affected by inaccurate models for sea level change.
Residents of Alabama Avenue in Carrboro are protesting a proposed Family Dollar in the neighborhood. Their outrage comes from having a chain-store encroaching on what has been historically locally-owned commercial area.
