Abstract:
Wayne County is OUR STATE magazine's featured county of the month. The county is home to three institutions whose names extend beyond county lines: Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Cherry Hospital, and Mt. Olive Pickle Company. The county also boasts a geological wonder, the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park; the rural cabin where Charles B. Aycock, the education governor, grew up; and the Waynesborough Historical Village.

Originally begun as a Christmas tree farm, Sanderson Wreaths & Garland has since transitioned as a manufacturer of custom wreaths and garlands. Located in the community of Four Oaks in Wayne County, NC, Sanderson 's specializes in green wreaths and garlands made of Frazier fir, boxwood, cedar, magnolia, eucalyptus mandina and cypress. Kenneth Sanderson and wife Vickey started the business more than 30 years ago.
