Abstract:

One of the unique summer and weekend homes in North Carolina is that of Avery and Doris Sisk's, which is located in Collettsville in Caldwell County. Most of the year, the Sisk family lives in Lincolnton, which is about fifty miles away. Their 12-by-26 foot, two-bedroom summer house is covered entirely in coffee mugs - 14,000 of them. They buy most of the mugs themselves, but around 1,000 are donated each year. Between 10,000 and 12,000 people visit each year to view the building.
