Talmage Powell, aged 44, who lives in Asheville, is perhaps North Carolina's most prolific writer. He has published over 500 stories and novelettes in national magazines, written for television, and is under contract to Universal Studios in Hollywood. He has written a number of books, published here and in almost twenty other counties, and been anthologized in a number of collections.

Aspiring author named Talmage Powell lived in Asheville and was gaining notoriety in the 1940s. He became infamous for spy and adventure stories published in various journals with nine stories in print during 1946. His work was also included in an anthology which collected the best detective stories of 1945.
