This is a reprint of trade and vessel records from the Massachusetts archives noting occurrences of trade with the Carolinas between 1686 and 1709. The introduction provides background information on the records and the circumstance of their establishment as well as period trade information.

Abstract:
This article seeks to build upon previous historians' work on the history of commercial shipping activities in North Carolina including the naval stores trade, provisions trade, lumber products shipping, and tobacco exportation. The author examines the Aaron Lopez papers who was a Rhode Island merchant actively involved in dispatching at least 37 voyages to North Carolina between 1761 and 1775.
