Abstract:
J. W. Noell, at age 94, is the oldest man in Person County and the oldest active newspaper editor in the country. He was born in Graham in 1862, and after working as a printer's devil for a Burlington paper, he moved to Roxboro in 1890 to join his brother who had purchased the Roxboro Courier. He has remained with the paper for sixty-five years.
