Abstract:

Swift & Company opened its first meat packing company in Wilson in 1959. Since then the workforce has increased from an initial 250 to about 350. The plant serves North Carolina and parts of South Carolina and Virginia. Over 1,200 head of mixed livestock are processed daily.
