Abstract:
The area aptly called “the Graveyard of the Atlantic” contains the Condor. The Civil War blockade runner is one of many sea stops along the Heritage Dive Trail. This trail, which helps the public access sunken ships along the coast, is slated to include more viewable wrecks in the next four years.

A tale many times told is likely to cite Queen Anne’s Revenge as the ship’s name, less so to note its French origins. Kenney-Watkins adds another layer of truth to the tale by including its relatively unknown African history in her discussion of conservation efforts begun in 1996.
