Metal Worx, Inc. is a Fayetteville business which makes sheet metal art. Founded by Lori Bertsch and her son Kory, the company originally specialized in customized cars. After eight years of business, they experimented with art when Lori commissioned a sheet metal “battle worn” flag. The design became popular and the shop soon expanded to making a variety of sheet metal art, from flags to business logos.

Abstract:
Fayetteville’s Vision 2026 plan has a two-fold mission: to spur economic growth, which may transform its current military town identity. How the business, government, and institutional leaders intend to make this vision a reality is through initiatives such as a baseball stadium, redevelopment of the historic Prince Charles Hotel, and a bond investing in park and recreation sites. Such initiatives may build on Fayetteville’s industrial base and make its county comparable to surrounding counties in terms of factors such as population growth.

A building part of downtown Fayetteville since the 1920s had received a new lease on life. The facility, formerly a site for businesses such as the Prince Charles Hotel, would now house apartments and offer retail space.

Abstract:
The largest industry affecting Fayetteville at this time is War. Fort Bragg, the largest military base in the world, is located within eight miles and between 50,000 and 60,000 soldiers are there. The Government has built 2,650 new buildings in support of the war effort, and it has been a boon to the local economy. The article lists other businesses and industries there.
