"From Roanoke Rapids past Raven Rock, a natural divide has long guided water, wildlife and people -- and it's still shaping people today." Tom Earnhardt, one of North Carolina's great naturalists says this are is a biological hotspot. It's where transportation from the coast ended and power began. Significant communities along the Fall Line include Weldon, Rocky Mount, Goldsboro and Fayetteville.
