Abstract:
Tom Daniels is one of the greatest baseball and football players that North Carolina has produced. He played semi-pro baseball with young unknowns like John McGraw and Willie Keeler. Casper Whitney picked him as the last word in halfbacks in 1894. Severely wounded in World War I, Daniels received the Croix de Guerre from France. Today he is commander of the North Carolina division of the American Legion.
