Abstract:
Ideal Cement Company has formally dedicated its new North Carolina plant at Castle Hayne. The storage, packing and bulk shipping facilities are complete. The cement plant is under construction and scheduled for completion in June 1963.

Abstract:
Ideal Basic Industries runs the only operating cement plant in North Carolina. Located at Castle Hayne, near Wilmington, the plant produced about 23 percent of all the cement used in the state in 1973. The plant, which began operations in 1963, also ships to South Carolina and Virginia and has an annual productive capacity of 500,000 tons.

Abstract:
Ideal Cement Company has a new plant at Castle Hayne to cook Eastern Carolina marl into high quality modern cement. The company will be turning out 3.5 million barrels of cement a year at Castle Hayne from an over over 450 foot long and 12 feet wide over, using 300 tons of coal and thousands of kilowatt hours of electricity a day.
