North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives provide the opportunity for middle school students to attend prestigious basketball camps in North Carolina through all-expense paid scholarships. Two of those camps, which are highlighted in this article, are the Roy Williams basketball camp at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and Kay Yow basketball camp at North Carolina State University.

Camp Sea Gull for boys and Camp Seafarer for girls are two outstanding youth camps along the shores of the Neuse River. Sponsored by the Raleigh YMCA, the camps are under the direction of Wyatt and Lillian Taylor. The summer camps teach participants about coastal North Carolina, and offer activities including SCUBA diving, horseback riding, and deep-sea fishing.

The Wilds is a year-round Christian camp and conference grounds located south of in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Operated by Hemlock Hills Christian Association, the camp aims to provide Christian growth and enrichment in a wholesome natural setting.
