For the 1959-60 season, North Carolina bow and arrow hunters will receive an extra 18 days of hunting on bear, deer, small game, and upland game birds, still within the bag limit. The previous year, 45 deer were taken in North Carolina during the hunting season.

Beaufort County has a growing archery community centered around the BoCO Archers Club, a 50-member group that competes against other archery clubs throughout eastern North Carolina. Club members learn from each other and pass on their knowledge of archery to children to keep the sport alive.
