Abstract:
Thomas Samuel Ashe is being honored with a highway historical marker. Ashe was a practicing lawyer and legislative member of both the United States Congress and the Confederate States of America Congress. Ashe failed to win his gubernatorial race against William Holden in 1868, but remained active in public life until his death in 1887.
