Abstract:
Pitt County, under authority granted by the North Carolina Legislature, organized a full-time rabies control program in August of 1952, to protect people, livestock, and wildlife. The program was administered by the Pitt County Health Department. In 1953, the city of Greenville asked the health department to administer their program, also.
