On May 3, 1848, Walter Dunn, Jr., of Lenoir Co., NC, and Phila A. Williams, of Greene Co., NC, sold 439 acres of land in Pitt County to Benjamin F. Hazelton, of Pitt County, being 2/5ths of a plantation whereon our father died in Pitt County and Walter Dunn’s grandfather, John Hazelton died. John Hazelton died leaving five heirs: Pinkney Hazelton, Benjamin F. Hazelton, Christopher C. Hazelton, Phila A. Williams and Walter Dunn, Jr. (his grandson).
