Abstract:
Located in Bath, the home was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970. A fire in 1989 destroyed the roof and attic. Restoration work at that time revealed construction methods dating the structure to 1751.

The town of Bath was Britain's first seat of power in colonial North Carolina. The Palmer-Marsh House, the political and economic heart of colonial Bath, was recently restored after suffering fire damage in 1989.
