Abstract:
North Wilkesboro, a thriving little city of northwestern North Carolina, had its beginning because of the wording of a railroad contract between the Richmond and Danville Railway Company and the Wilkes County board of commissioners. Now the little town is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a big celebration.

Abstract:
North Wilkesboro, at forty years of age, is a relatively young town in North Carolina. Yet in that time its population has grown to almost 7,000, and it has developed into one of the outstanding business towns in the western part of the state.
