Abstract:
Commercial Printing Company, Inc., located in Raleigh, prints everything from business cards to books. The company was founded in 1894, and incorporated in 1907, making it one of North Carolina's earliest corporations. G. Akers Moore, Sr. purchased the company in 1922, and it is now in the third-generation of ownership.

In 1946, after service in World War II, Bill McLaurin was twenty-one, newly-married, carrying a full class load at the University of North Carolina, and almost broke. He went to work as a parking lot attendant at eighty cents an hour. Today, the McLaurin Parking Company is one of the most respected names in the parking industry. With sixty lots in Raleigh, the company has branched out to hospital, college, sporting, and special event parking operations.

Abstract:
Founded in 1867 in Raleigh during the chaotic period of Reconstruction, Alfred Williams and Company began as a school book supplier to Raleigh and rest of the state. Williams recounts the history of the firm which still remains in the family's hands. Over the years the company has added stationery, office equipment, and a typewriting, engraving and framing department.
