Abstract:

The rejuvenated Gaston Technical Institute may be a model for many others of its kind. GTI was formed due to the lack of technical training opportunities in NC, especially for engineering technicians. Moved from Morehead City to Gastonia, GTI bought and renovated the old dormitories for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
