Frederick K. Reiber is general manager of Westinghouse Electric Corporation's Meter Division, which has been headquartered in Raleigh since 1954. It is Raleigh's largest industry and also the world's largest plant devoted exclusively to the manufacture of electric meters. Reiber is featured in this month's WE THE PEOPLE MAGAZINE's North Carolina Businessman in the News.

Westinghouse Electrical has been centered in Newark, New Jersey since 1926, but with recent defense requirements, there has been a need to expand facilities. Westinghouse has chosen a location on the outskirts of Raleigh, North Carolina to produce watt-hour meters used to power homes and industries.
