On the heals of a fire at a poultry-processing plant in Hamlet, North Carolina, state Governor Jim Martin has announced a series of steps intended to increase workplace safety. Several initiatives provide additional contacts to report suspected hazards, additional safety inspectors, and the creation of a fire safety inspection division to combat issues in North Carolina's workplace safety.
