Abstract:
In 1898, Sidney L. Alderman opened one of the first portrait studios in the South in Greensboro. Seeing a new opportunity, he later moved to High Point and opened a studio that served the furniture industry. Today the Alderman Company is the world's largest commercial photography-printing complex.

Abstract:
Alderman Studios, Inc., located in High Point, is the largest commercial photography studio in the world. Nearly 400 people work in the various phases of the studio's operation. Among the commercial photography houses in the nation Alderman is unique because of its size and its comprehensiveness.
