North Carolina's sole woman architect is Mrs. Q.E. Herman, of Hickory. She assists her husband, who follows the same profession, and finds the work fascinating. Mrs. Herman is an important part of the Herman firm, helping to design buildings and various other structures and also superintending their construction.
