Abstract:
Britt was born on the same day that Abraham Lincoln gave his 1st Inaugural Address. He was born into poverty but rose to be a well-known educator, lawyer, and U.S. Congressman. Patton wrote of him, \"The life and accomplishments of Jim Britt read more like romance than true history.\" He then gave a summary of many of them.
