Abstract:
Lee Hall was a North Carolina native who served in the Texas Rangers. Hall, from Greensboro, moved west as a teenager and worked as the sheriff of Denison, Texas by 1868. In 1876, he was sworn in as a Texas Ranger and created the Special State Troops. This group specialized in man hunting, and during his leadership tenure they captured 420 men. Many call Hall the greatest of the Texas Rangers.
