Abstract:
The article highlights key towns and why these places are noteworthy within Beaufort County. Some of the places visited were Washington, Bath, and Belhaven. Such cultural highlights mentioned in this article included Blackbeard's home in Bath, oyster boats of Belhaven, and the tulip farm at Terra Ceia.

Little Washington has a unique distinction in the number of its citizens who have become nationally famous in various lines of endeavor. There were seven--John H. Small, Josephus Daniel, William Churchill deMille, Cecil B. deMille, Lindsay Carter Warren, George Denny, and Norman Cordon.
