Researchers from East Carolina University, Old Dominion University, and Saint Louis University are conducting a study to examine the link between flooding and public health infrastructure in Morehead City, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. The goal is to help decision-makers determine appropriate actions based on the severity of flooding.

Abstract:
The town of Nags Head has conducted a research survey to determine whether those living in and governing Nags Head were aware of the coastal hazards. The participants were asked various questions concerning coastal hazards. The results will be used to further options for adaptation to coastal hazards.

Abstract:
RISING is an ongoing multi-disciplinary project that incorporates oral histories with scientific research funded by the North Carolina Sea Grant. Oral histories collected from residents on the Outer Banks highlight the scientific research of climate change, environmental impacts, and preventative measures alongside stunning photographs.
