Wimpies Steam Bar and Grill has undergone renovations and introduced a new seasonal schedule for its reopening. The changes include a roving oyster shucker, new bar area, patio area, and paved parking lot. New items have also been added to the menu to compliment old favorites. Wimpies Steam Bar and Grill has been serving food to Winterville for more than 20 years.

Vik Sexton, a Greenville artist, presents fun but creepy sculptures made of clay. She has developed her own unique way of painting them to give them a more matte appearance and to make any color she wants. Her pieces include ‘Terror-Dactyls,’ Franklin heads, and a piece entitled the ‘Worst Toy Ever.’ Sexton has been working with clay since she was a small child and has been taking her work to shows for years.

One of Cecil Staton’s accomplishments during his chancellorship was implementing a plan to transform East Carolina University into a campus that advocates ecological sustainability. The plan, to be implemented between 2017-2022, contains these initiatives in the areas of climate change mitigation, academics and research, campus grounds, and materials management.

Scottie Montgomery’s tenure as head football coach was predicted to be promising, from his dedication to producing a quality football team and coaching staff. Among his players, he emphasized model student behavior, rigorous conditioning, community service engagement, and preparation for life post-graduation. For his coaching staff, he emphasized a family atmosphere and open door policy to help staff with limited experience develop professionally.

In 2011, Blackbeard’s flagship had artifacts such as a three footed cauldron put on display at the NC Maritime Museum in Beaufort. Understanding the true measure of the treasure, though, entailed viewing how such items, sunk in the briny deep for nearly three centuries, were conserved by the QAR Conservation Lab.
