Abstract:
Closed in 1973 because its building was unsafe, the East Carolina Summer Theatre is making a dramatic comeback. A multi-million dollar construction project has renovated and expanded McGinnis Theatre on the campus of East Carolina University and 1982 will mark the start of summer theatre again. Productions are under the direction of Edgar R. Loessin, chairman of the ECU Department of Drama and Speech.

Several North Carolina makers of this type of furniture discuss their product, including Alma Desk Company (High Point), Bernhardt Industries (Lenoir), Boling Company (Siler City), and Comforto Incorporated (Lincolnton).

Henry Talmadge Link started Dixie Furniture in Lexington in 1937 with eighty-six people, five salesmen, and three hundred customers. Today, the company has eight plants with five million-square-feet of floor space, 4,000 employees, 100 salesman and over 10,000 customers at home and abroad.
