Dr. Taylor wrote “Survey of Marine Fisheries of North Carolina” in 1950 and wanted to include a small section of economics in it. However, he then decided to expend on the economic section to avoid superficiality and to consider the fisheries of the entire country, making an assemblage of basic analyses and interpretations.

This article examines the 1928 editorials of 'Cleveland Press' editor W.J. Cash during the Al Smith-Herbert Hoover presidential campaign. In his editorials, Cash criticized the anti-Catholic sentiment in Shelby, North Carolina. In doing so, Cash angered the Ku Klux Klan and was targeted by them through KKK literature.

This article looks at the political upheaval that arose in the state after Herbert Hoover's North Carolina win in the 1928 election. Particular attention is given to conflict within the state's Democratic party concerning Furnifold M. Simmons' lack of support for Hoover's opponent, Democratic candidate Alfred E. Smith.
