George Glamack, six foot, five inch center on the University of North Carolina basketball team, became the first player in the history of the school - and of North Carolina as well - to gain an All-American cage berth when he was given that honor by the Newspaper Enterprise Association. The selection came as a climax to a season that produced some of the most sensational playing by an individual that the Southern Conference has seen in years - if ever.

Twenty-two years experience in professional baseball and ten years of collegiate coaching is the record that stands behind Bunn Hearn, who is beginning his eleventh season as head coach of the University of North Carolina baseball team. A native of Chapel Hill, Hearn played football and baseball for Mississippi A & M. He later played baseball for St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Boston Braves, before returning to the south as manager for Kinston and several other coastal plains teams.

Dr. R. B. Lawson, Physical Director and Associate Professor of Anatomy at the University of North Carolina, has had a very interesting career in athletics. In the thirty-five years he has been a member of the University faculty he has coached football, baseball, and gymnastics, and has served as trainer for the football team as well as teaching in the medical school. He also played football and baseball, and took part in track while attending the University, later playing semi-professional and professional baseball.

Estelle Lawson Page became a golfer in 1931 and went on to a very successful athletic career. In 1938 she clinched the Women's Carolinas' Golf tournament in Linville, N.C. Her other accolades included: National Women's Amateur Golf Champion, placed and won at the Mid South medal tourney, and chosen for the Curtis Cup team to face off against Britain's best female golfers.

J. Grayson Neal is a hosiery manufacturer in Marion. In the winter Neal goes to Florida to compete in fishing tournaments, such as the International Tarpon Tournament, where he took first prize in 1935. He holds a number of records and recently caught a 521-pound sea bass with a rod-and-reel. It is the largest sea bass ever caught with that type of equipment.

John W. Bell, of Cleveland County, has built up a business along rather unique lines. Bell carries his business to his customers with the Rolling Store. Operation of this unique store has paid big dividends increased business, and at the same time has rendered a valuable service to the rural people of Cleveland and Rutherford counties.

He promises to make an even greater record in the world of tennis than his illustrious father has done in the field of mathematics. Archibald Henderson Jr. has not only help lead his UNC Chapel Hill tennis team to be the National Collegiate Champions for two years, but has started making a name for himself in solo tournaments along the east coast.
