On March 28, 2025, Bladen's Bloomin' Agri-Industrial Inc., a nonprofit real estate developer filed a civil suit against the town of Elizabethtown for failing to reply to a public records request. On the same day, the town issued a press release blaming the nonprofit with misinformation.

With a population of 3,500, Tyrrell is North Carolina's least populous counties. 43% of Tyrrell's land is owned by the government. Development here is hamstringed, owing to a lack of infrastructural, natural and statutorial limitations.

Under Brady's leadership, the partnership has shifted it workforce mindset from academics to career and technical education. Currently the county has 8,000 technical and manufacturing jobs with average wages of $66,000, as opposed to its $3 billion tourism industry with average salaries at $30,000.
