For over a decade, Star Shipping Inc., has been providing service to customers of the North Carolina ports, primarily companies involved in the forest products trade. In 1992, Star Shipping was ranked as the largest breakbulk carrier calling the North Carolina Ports, in terms of both number of vessels and volume of cargo. Star also ships more than half of the total volume of wood pulp, the state’s single largest export commodity.
