Ohio native Jeff Charles Purtee initiated a fabled career as play-by-play for ECU sports in the late 1980s. Terry Holland lead the athletics deportment at ECU from 2004-2013.

"Diverse efforts aim to prioritize mental well being." According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, suicide is the second leading cause of death among persons aged 10-14. East Carolina University's Dr. Michael Lang states that access remains a problem because there aren't enough providers.

Abstract:

ECU Dental School will soon open its seventh Community Service Learning Center in Lumberton in Robeson County. The center will bring dental care \"to limited-income, underserved residents.\" Fourth-year dental students and dental residents will hone their skills under the watch of experienced faculty members. The Dental School opened in 2008, and the center is the seventh of ten it will build across the state.
